YOUR THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Your brain is not an inanimate object -- like a computer that you program with inputs, which then runs accordingly. As Norman Doidge puts it in his book "The Brain That Changes Itself," your brain is "living creature" with its own appetites that grow and change. The implications of this are staggering. Our brains are like gardens ... or better yet: they're like animals that we feed and tend to. They grow and change over time -- as do their appetites -- depending on what we feed and how we exercise them.
