Do you know anyone who's stuck in destructive patterns — addictions, compulsive behaviors, or habits they just can’t shake? Maybe a friend, family member, somebody in your church?
Or maybe this is true of you?
All too often in our churches today, this struggle stays hidden. If and when it is addressed, it’s often with advice that falls short: “Pray more.” “Try harder.” “Get an accountability partner.” For most people these aren’t
enough.
In moments of stress or pain, people reach for relief — not just because they’re sinful, but because they’re wounded. They’re trying to cope. And unless we help them integrate spiritual insight with emotional healing and practical tools, they’ll stay stuck.
That’s why I created Renewed Life — a 12-week, Christian support and coaching program to help people break free from compulsive behaviors and build a life strong enough to support lasting recovery.
I’ve worked in this space for over 20 years — both as a pastor and as a coach and teacher. I spent five years with Faithful & True Ministries, and since then, I’ve led groups and taught workshops across the country, helping more than 1,600 people work through issues like pornography, sex addiction, compulsive eating, substance abuse, and overwork.
And now I’m inviting you to help someone find hope.
Here’s how you can help:
- Forward this
opportunity to any one you know who may be struggling — or who might know someone who is.
- See if your church can forward it in it's communications (email, bulletin, announcements).
- Join yourself — either for your own growth, or to preview the program for possible use in your ministry.
What is Renewed Life?
- A 12-week program combining teaching, spiritual formation, and peer support
- Rooted in Christian faith, but psychologically informed and deeply practical
- Designed for those struggling with addiction or recurring “bad
habits” that don’t meet clinical criteria but still cause real harm.
Each week includes:
- A short daily teaching delivered by email
- A weekly video
lesson
- A simple action step for personal application
- An optional support group (online or in person)
There is no set fee — the program runs on a donation basis, and
gifts are tax-deductible.

We’re hosting an interest session over Zoom on Thursday, January 15 at 7pm Central. You’ll hear from past participants, get an overview of the program, and have a chance to ask questions. No pressure — just
a chance to explore whether this could be a fit for you or someone you serve.
To receive the Zoom link, simply reply to this email and let me know.
If you doubt how serious or widespread this issue is, please read this article I sent out to my email list a couple weeks ago: Entangled: Why So Many of Us Feel Stuck.
If there’s a tug on your heart — if someone comes to mind as you read this — I hope you’ll take a step.
You never know the difference one invitation can make!
