A conference invitation and my Leadership Journal article
Published: Tue, 03/25/14
I'm writing to let you know about a couple resources for you.
I'm seeking to offer help to other Christian leaders in whatever
ways I can. I'm right now working on setting up some webinars and
a leadership conference somewhere in the Midwest to coincide with
the launch of "The Not So Overwhelmed Leader" book.
For right now, please keep me in mind if you have any needs for
someone to speak at your church for a men's, couples', or
leadership training event. I'm wanting to find places to share the
information I've been bringing together in the research for this
project.
Meanwhile, here's a couple opportunities you might find helpful:
1. A RECOVERY CONFERENCE (IN CHICAGO) INVITE FOR YOU
As you know, many people in our communities - and churches - are
struggling with addictions of various kinds. I'm excited to invite
you to a free conference on Addiction and Recovery, sponsored and
hosted by Trinity Christian College, in Palos Heights, IL. This
conference is part of an annual "Psychology Renewed" conference
series, put on by the Psychology department at Trinity.
Date: Saturday, April 5
Time: 8:30am to 1pm
Cost: Free
This is not simply an academic conference. Along with health care
professionals, pastors, students, and members of the general public
are invited. Check out some of the presentations:
1) I well be talking about the spiritual roadblocks on the road to
recovery.
2) Dr. Derrick Hassert will talk about neuroscience, addiction, and
question of free will.
3) Dr. Dianna Evers will talk about treating the addict beyond
simple abstinence.
4) Dr. William Lenters will talk about how we - not drugs - are
the problem with addiction.
I'm excited to be part of this conference, and I'm especially
excited to see the lineup of other speakers and topics! This should
be really good! You can find out more about the conference here:

2. MY ARTICLE IN LEADERSHIP JOURNAL IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE
My article in Leadership Journal is finally available online! It's
in the most recent print edition, and now they've put up the link
to it on their website. The article is called "The Friendless
Pastor," and in it I talk about the challenges that Christian
leaders face in cultivating honest relationships. How can we find
people we can trust to be open with? Check out the article here:

If you like it, be sure to leave a comment on their website after
the article! That would be much appreciated :-)
I want to share this information with as many pastors as I can,
because I think this is an incredibly important issue for many of
us, and it pains me to see how many leaders are struggling, and not
getting the support that they need.
BLESSINGS!
