This past month has been a bit of a whirlwind, with winding things up at Loop Church in Chicago, and moving to Minnesota. Here's a recap:
(1) We have moved, and I've now begun my role as the pastor of Bethel Church in Princeton, MN. I have more or less been absorbed in the process of moving, family gatherings during Christmas, and now settling in to our new home and my new ministry role. My computer is now up and running, and my books are on the shelves, so I'm starting to feel some normalcy again.
(2) Charlene and I will be teaching in Thailand in March. I hope to have some updates about this soon. Here's what I've said about this trip in recent newsletters: We are going at the invitation of Youth With a Mission (YWAM) Thailand. We'll be teaching missionaries, counselors, and pastors about addiction and recovery, and I'll also do a separate conference for pastors about healthy leadership. We be seeking to raise money to pay for our travel expenses, and to offer a gift
to YWAM for their important ministry. Thailand is a center for the tragic and growing industry of sex trafficking and sex tourism. It's also a country going through tremendous transition, and in the midst of this, there are huge challenges with addiction.
