Today I'm releasing the first in a series of videos that profile recent research about what it takes to live happy, well-adjusted lives. As I say in the video, I'm sharing the results of -- and some of my perspective about -- a meta-study done in 2020 by the Center for Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

The first pillar -- which I talk about today is "awareness." The word these days is "mindfulness," which some Christians are uncomfortable with, due to its association with Eastern religions. Let's not be to too quick to let go of a word or practice like this. Buddhists don't own this word, and they're not the only people who do it. Christians have been doing this for centuries (as have people from other faith traditions as well). This word matters today because we are living such
distracted lives. The more we can focus our attention on the tasks, conversations, and activities before us, the happier we will be, and the healthier we will be. Tune into the video to see more of what I mean by that, and how to do it.

Have a great week!

2. New Seminar: Mentally Healthy, Mentally Strong: facing the internal struggles that define our lives

I've put together a workshop that I'd love to give at your church or community organization. Up until now (prior to the pandemic), this kind of workshop has been important and helpful -- and I've led many of them. But now, in our situation today, this kind of seminar is paramount.

Quick Overview of the Seminar
I would focus on three particular aspects of this struggle, and depending on the audience, I could give more or less attention to each of these three:
- Struggles with Anxiety

- Struggles with Discouragement / Depression

- Struggles with Desire (sexual temptation, intimacy)

Read my latest book:
"Leaving Your
Mark Without Losing Your Mind"
This book focuses on the innate need we all have to make a difference with our lives ... and what gets in the way. Building a life of meaning and purpose is essential for our happiness, but many people get sidelined because of stress, overwhelm, and discouragement. This book will help you find strategies to overcome those challenges (and others).
