I equip people to serve God and others in a way that is both fruitful and sustainable. I do this through teaching, writing, and coaching. This newsletter is part of that work.

In today's newsletter, I'm talking about another problem I've observed religious people running into on the journey of recovery and healing: MAGICAL THINKING. Yes, it's good to look to God for help, to pray for healing, and trust that God will provide it. But such "faith" can easily drift into magical thinking -- in this case, looking for God to fix your problem without it requiring effort or risk on our part. I
explain more in the video.

I hope you find it helpful. Have a great week!

 2. FEATURE VIDEO TEACHING: Trusting in God for Healing ... or "Magical Thinking?"
(run time: 12:58)
In this video I respond to the question I'm sometimes asked: "What does it mean to trust God for one's healing?" Sometimes people talk about the need to "Let Go and Let God" -- a phrase that I find to be misleading, as I talk about in the video. For any human endeavor, there are things we
have the power (and responsibility) to take action on, and things outside of our control. For those we rely on God. If we think we can rely on God to give us healing, while we ourselves don't do our part, we are kidding ourselves. That's not faith ... that's magical thinking.

"Leaving Your
Mark Without Losing Your Mind"
This book focuses on the innate need we all have to make a difference with our lives ... and what gets in the way. Building a life of meaning and purpose is essential for our happiness, but many people get sidelined because of stress, overwhelm, and discouragement. This book will help you find strategies to overcome those challenges (and others).
